 WTC announces the Ford Ironman World Championship 70.3, an event supported by a new global series of Ironman 70.3 events. For the first time ever, athletes who complete a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike and a 13.1 mile run, totaling 70.3 miles, will have the unique opportunity to qualify for a world championship at that distance.
The Ironman Brazil 70.3 is an official qualifying event for the 2010 Ford Ironman 70.3 World Championship offering 50 slots to compete at Clearwater, Florida on November 13rd 2010. Slots distribution will be proportional to the number of athletes in each category. The slots distribution will be revealed 30 days before the event, in accordance with WTC rules.
